Squalane is a natural organic compound that is produced by all plants and animals, including humans.  When used in a cosmeceutical, Squalane is most commonly derived from shark liver or from plants (usually olives).  When found naturally in humans, Squalane is the most common fat and antioxidant produced in and on human skin.  It is a natural moisturizer, a good emollient and has antioxidant and immune-stimulating properties.  TriBeCa MedSpa carries our very own Squalane Serum as part of our two step hydrating system.  Our pure Squalane Serum is used as a moisture seal after our Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum (another naturally occurring emollient produced by our bodies).  Since Squalane is a larger molecule it works perfectly as a final step in your home care regimen, locking in the products to correct and hydrate your skin and locking out city pollutants.
