FAQ

What is CoolTone?

The latest in body contouring, CoolTone by CoolSculpting is an effective, non-surgical way to tone, firm, and strengthen your abs, buttocks, and thighs. CoolTone is a quick 30 minutes, painless procedure that can increase muscle strength, mass, and definition. It fills out and sculpts your physique in a way not possible with just exercise alone.

Does CoolTone treatment hurt?

CoolTone contracts your muscles, which can feel like an uncomfortable muscle spasm. You might experience muscle cramps, joint pain, or spasms, but these are temporary.

How does CoolTone work?

CoolTone’s powerful Magnetic Muscle Stimulation technology penetrates below the fat layer to deliver strong pulses to muscle tissues. The induced current is stronger in the muscle layer and the body responds to these contractions by strengthening its muscle fibers and improving muscle conditioning. The result is stronger, firmer, and more toned muscles.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, you’ll start to see results within a few weeks following treatment. Optimal CoolTone results will occur with a total of 4 treatments, twice a week for two weeks, with muscle definition intensifying with every session. Increased muscle mass with CoolTone is not permanent but can last for 6 months or longer and best preserved with a periodic maintenance program.

Are there CoolTone side effects?

There’s no downtime afterward, though common side effects may include, but may not be limited to, muscular pain, muscle spasm, joint or tendon pain, and redness at or near the treatment site.

Who is not a candidate for CoolTone treatment?

You should not have CoolTone treatment in areas with metal, electrical, or electronic implants/devices like cardiac pacemakers, implanted hearing devices, implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators, drug pumps, or hearing aids. Some conditions, such as pregnancy or epilepsy, do not make you a good candidate for this procedure. Speak with your medical provider before undergoing CoolTone.

CoolTone vs EmSculpt

Both body contouring treatments can help further define the abdomen, buttocks and thighs, however, EmSculpt is shown to both reduce fat and strengthen muscle while CoolTone claims to enhance muscle. At Tribeca MedSpa we offer CoolTone in combination with CoolSculpting to meet fat reduction goals.

CoolTone vs CoolSculpting

While these two treatments sound similar, making them easy to confuse, the technologies and benefits are extremely different. If you are evaluating CoolTone vs CoolSculpting, our recommendation is to contact a non-surgical expert at Tribeca MedSpa to discuss your body contouring goals, review the differences between the procedures, and potentially how they can be used together to achieve your desired outcome.

In short though, the major difference between CoolTone and CoolSculpting is that the latter targets the fat cells in your body while CoolTone targets the muscle in your body.
