What is CoolSculpting® Elite?
CoolSculpting® Elite is a fat-reduction treatment for men and women who want to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat in trouble spots such as the abdomen, flanks, or under the chin. upper arm, bra fat, back fat, and under the buttocks. CoolSculpting® Elite is NOT a weight loss procedure, but a nonsurgical alternative that has little to no downtime.
What are the benefits of CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting® Elite has been shown to achieve up to a 25% reduction in fat versus classic CoolSculpting®, which removed 18-20% of fat in a single session. Results can be seen as early as one to three months after treatment, but that’s not the only benefit of CoolSculpting® Elite. Redesigned Elite applicators can now cover up to 18% more skin surface at a time, allowing providers to target larger treatment areas faster.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting® Elite’s fat-freezing technology delivers controlled freezing of fat cells. This process is known as cryolipolysis.
During CoolSculpting® Elite treatment, your provider will apply a thin layer of gel and an applicator cup to each treatment area. Each applicator cup delivers controlled temperatures between 30° and 39° Fahrenheit to chill the fat cells until they are damaged beyond repair. You may feel mild pinching, coolness, pulling or tingling during this time; however, these sensations usually subside as the treatment areas become numb and most patients report no pain during the session.
Individual results vary but may be noticeable within one to three months.
What areas can CoolSculpting treat?
Visible bulges under the chin and jawline areas, thighs, abdomen and flanks, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and upper arms.
Is CoolSculpting safe?
CoolSculpting® Elite has been cleared by the FDA to effectively treat nine different areas of the body. Clinical trials have demonstrated CoolSculpting® Elite to be safe and effective in reducing fat in certain areas.
What is the process like?
Your Coolsculpting® Elite provider will apply a clear gel pad to the treatment area. This creates a barrier between the cooling panel and your skin.
The CoolSculpting® Elite system includes a selection of noninvasive, tissue-cooling applicators controlled by a precisely engineered monitoring system. The applicator will be placed on the treatment area and there will be a slight sucking sensation as it adheres to your body, followed by that signature cooling effect. During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.
During the treatment you will be able to relax and read, answer emails, or talk with a friend.
After the applicator is detached, your provider will do a brief massage on the area to break up the treated fat cells and enhance the fat reduction.
How long does a CoolSculpting treatment take?
Each treatment is different depending on which area(s) of the body are targeted, but at minimum will take at least 30 minutes. If you opt to do multiple treatments in a session, expect to spend more time.
How many CoolSculpting treatments are needed?
While you will see up to a 25% fat reduction in the treated area after a single treatment, it depends on the person and the area being treated. Your provider will work with you to determine if additional treatments are necessary to reach your desired goal.
What’s the difference between CoolSculpting vs CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting® Elite has been shown to achieve up to a 25% reduction in fat versus classic CoolSculpting, which removed 18-20% of fat in a single session.
CoolSculpting® Elite is the first iteration of traditional CoolSculpting® technology that allows providers to target two treatment areas at once—meaning a provider can actively reduce fat cells in two different areas of the body simultaneously.
Traditional CoolSculpting® is best suited for those with one desired treatment area, as it targets one area at a time. CoolSculpting® Elite can dual sculpt, which is more efficient for those seeking multiple treatment areas. Elite treatment also offers seven reengineered application cups that have a C-shape rather than the traditional U-shape to fit the body’s natural curves more comfortably.
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
That all depends on what areas you treat and how many treatments you have. Many patients choose to do CoolSculpting® Elite on multiple areas to reach their ideal result. Typically, average cost is between $2,000 and $4,000 per session. Your expert provider will discuss your specific costs after a complimentary consultation based on your concerns, time commitment and body goals. Is CoolSculpting worth it?
Clinical studies demonstrate that the CoolSculpting® Elite treatment provides noticeable, measurable fat reduction in 1-3 months post-treatment.
Are there any side effects to CoolSculpting?
Most patients experience little to no downtime after treatment. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity, and sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment. Rare side effects may also occur. Please discuss these with your CoolSculpting® Elite provider.
How do I know if I am a candidate?
Ideal candidates for the CoolSculpting® Elite treatment are relatively fit but have some modest-size fat bulges that are not easily reduced through diet and exercise. They are seeking spot reduction for specific areas of fat but are not considering a surgical procedure. The CoolSculpting® Elite treatment is not a treatment for weight loss, and it is not a substitute for invasive methods such as liposuction.
Who should not receive CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting® Elite is contraindicated in patients with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.
