Everyone deserves to look in the mirror and feel comfortable in their own skin — especially those embarking on their transition journey. At Tribeca MedSpa, we strive to provide a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for every patient.
Transformation is our mission, both in the level of service we provide and in the results you see in your face and body. Featuring Medical Aesthetician Merve Aykanat, who divides her time with us at Tribeca Med Spa and at the Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine, our team has extensive experience working with transgender patients undergoing the transition process. Together we develop customized plans that are unique to you and your individual transition.
Facial Feminization MedSpa Services
Many male-to-female and non-binary patients seek out gender-affirming facial feminization treatments. Facial feminization encompasses a wide range of services that can alter certain facial features, such as sculpting the jaw and cheeks, and address skin concerns, such as uneven skin tone and texture, large pores or acne scarring. The result is a more conventionally feminine appearance.
Chemical peels can resurface the skin, creating a rejuvenated, toned result that helps to feminize the face. We offer customized formulations that our providers expertly match to address your specific skincare concerns from superficial to deep layers of the dermis.
Laser Hair Removal
For trans women and some nonbinary people, laser hair removal can be an exciting step in the journey. It’s also a great, noninvasive option suited to wherever you are in your transition process, whether or not you’re opting for surgery.
Laser hair removal is helpful in eliminating unwanted hair across the face, from the jawline to between the eyebrows. As one of the most popular transgender services, laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light to stop hair growth at the root. Though most individuals require multiple sessions to be completely hair-free, those who undergo laser hair removal can say goodbye to tweezing, waxing, and threading for good.
Forma by InMode is a non-surgical, non-invasive facial skin tightening treatment. Like Morpheus8, Forma uses radiofrequency technology to gently warm the subdermal layers of the skin. The warmth stimulates collagen production and skin tightening across the face and can be especially beneficial for facial feminization along the jowls, under eyes, and forehead.
Body Contouring and Hair Removal Services
Hormone fluctuations and various medications throughout the transition journey can create several noticeable changes in your body. Body contouring and hair removal are some of the more popular services for people in transition to help their physical appearance reflect their gender identity.
Where CoolSculpting helps to reduce visible body fat, CoolTone helps to strengthen, tone, and firm muscles. CoolTone uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to penetrate below the top layer of fat and painlessly contract the muscles below. This process helps to enhance muscle mass and definition in the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks for more feminine legs or a more masculine chest.
miraDry offers FDA-cleared treatment for underarm sweating with the additional benefits of hair reduction. With thermal heating technology, miraDry safely eliminates sweat and odor glands from the underarm to reduce excessive underarm sweating and odor. The treatment also impacts hair follicles (the root of the hair) to limit the amount of hair that grows in the underarm area.
