Sculptra Facial Rejuvenation in NYC
Conveniently located to serve New York City, Tribeca, and The Upper East Side
Developing fine lines, sagging skin and wrinkles is a natural part of the aging process that happens when our body’s levels of collagen and elastin begin to decrease starting in our 20s. As these levels decrease, we lose volume and elasticity in our skin, which results in less taut, sagging, and hallowed skin.
Sculptra is a cutting-edge injectable, non-invasive treatment that combats the natural aging process by regenerating collagen production leading to supple, smooth, and lifted skin. Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that addresses the underlying cause of facial aging, not just the visual signs! This treatment targets stubborn smile lines, marionette lines, chin wrinkles, and facial volume loss, with results appearing gradually and lasting up to two years.
FAQs About Sculptra
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that replaces lost collagen over time. The treatment is quick, effective, and does not require any downtime like other procedures that yield comparable results.
How does the Sculptra treatment work?
Your Sculptra provider injects the treatment into the dermal plane of the targeted area. The injection contains a synthetic poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) stimulator that addresses the underlying structure of the skin to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. The Sculptra injection goes into the dermis where it activates collagen production, repairing your skin’s structure and lost volume.
Just like other injectables, all Sculptra treatments do not provide the same results. To maximize your results and minimize side effects, you’ll want a trained and experienced Sculptra provider who has expertise in the placement, depth and amount of product to inject.
What areas can Sculptra treat?
We can provide Sculptra treatment on multiple areas of the face during one session, including the temples, under eyes, jowls, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and cheeks.
How long does Sculptra last?
The results are gradual, with maximum results appearing two years after treatment. After two years, the new collagen layer may last an additional two years. Results vary.
Is Sculptra a filler?
Sculptra is simply a collagen stimulator, not a filler. Unlike other dermal fillers that contain Hyaluronic acid, Sculptra injections do not contain any product that adds volume to the face. Instead, it addresses the underlying cause of lost volume. Sculptra causes a reaction that prompts your body’s natural response to increase new collagen production.
Is Sculptra safe?
This treatment is FDA-approved and considered generally safe. The poly-L-lactic acid injection is biodegradable and is easily broken down and absorbed in the body. Side effects, such as redness, bruising, tenderness, and injection site pain are mild and temporary.
Who is a candidate for Sculptra?
Sculptra creates long-lasting, natural-looking results for men and women. If you want a more youthful and natural-looking result, Sculptra may be the right option for you. This treatment is also ideal for men and women who are dealing with facial hallowing and volume loss that are typically associated with aging.
How many treatments do I need?
Treatments are highly customized to your current skin condition and desired goals. The number of sessions and the number of injections per appointment varies, depending on how much collagen has been lost. Typically, you’ll need three sessions over a period of a few months.
What should I know before my appointment?
During your complimentary consultation, a Sculptra provider reviews your medical history, current skin condition, and aesthetic goals to determine if Sculptra is the best treatment. Your provider can then create a customized treatment plan. Sculptra may require multiple sessions over the course of several months to achieve your goals.
We recommended avoiding medication that may cause bruising or bleeding, including Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Advil. We also advise not drinking alcohol 24 hours before your appointment as this may cause increased bruising and swelling as well.
What should I know after my appointment?
This treatment is non-invasive and does not require downtime so you can go back to your normal daily activities afterward. Arnica may be used post-treatment to decrease bruising.
